VOCAL is a 501(c)3 non-profit focused on solving the homeless pet problem in Marion County. We have a multipronged approach and operate 2 core programs to meet the needs of pets in our community. We have our Community Outreach program which encompasses our Community Clinic & Resource Center and Pet Food Bank. Our other program is Rescue and Adoption which is designed for animals specifically from Marion County Florida. Our primary goal is always to focus on pet owner retention through our Community Outreach programs. Keeping pets with their families in their homes is paramount. We need the support and monetary contributions from people like you to help keep our programs available for pets in our community that need our help. Please consider a recurring donation and continually support the mission each month.
Community Clinic &Resource Center
Our Community Clinic & Resource Center provides life-saving specialty surgery, spay/neuter surgery, and general and routine wellness care. Our Fix the Future program at the clinic is designed to financially support animals and families who are experiencing financial hardship and cannot afford to provide the care their animal needs to remain comfortable and healthy. Our clinic also offers a unique Trap-Neuter & Return program which is focused on controlling the feral cat population through affordable sterilization services.
Our Pet Food Bank
Our pet food bank supplies food to families who need assistance. We believe in keeping pets with their owners and in their homes. Our pet food program, Project FEED does just that; it provides food to animals who may otherwise be surrendered due to financial hardship. We are proud to provide food and supplies to families to help them more comfortably keep their cats and dogs.
Rescue & Adoption
Your donation supports our Rescue & Adoption program. It supports the infrastructure needed to adequately care for the animals and provide the necessary medical care. All animals in our program prior to adoption receive a full veterinarian examination, appropriate core vaccinations including rabies, sterilization surgery, deworming and flea treatment as well as a microchip.
