Welcome and thank you for applying to be a VOCAL Youth Council member! You are now included in our email group that sends out news, events and other information as it arises. Feel free to email Mimi Eller, the Youth Council Coordinator, at mimi.eller@vocalforpets.org for additional information. Please read the information below and email Mimi Eller (mimi.eller@vocalforpets.org) letting her know you received and read the below information.
As a Youth Council member, you are a representative of your community as well as this organization. It is important to be aware that your actions will reflect on VOCAL. Member responsibilities are addressed below. And, there are also websites included for you to visit and join.

COUNCIL MEMBER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Paying the activity fee prior to participating. The fee is required to cover the cost of t-shirt and other expenses for group activities. The $20 fee can be paid here: https://www.vocalforpets.org/shop/service-payment/youth-council-activity-fee/
  • Regular attendance at meetings
  • Contributing ideas to the group
  • Being an ambassador for the organization’s mission
  • Exhibiting strong traits of leadership and professionalism
    YOU ARE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:
  • Timely communication of concerns and questions
  • Managing your schedule and recording your volunteer hours accurately
  • Working as a team, sharing responsibilities, and working through challenges
    Youth Council Members agree to the following Code of Conduct:
    Behavior at all times should be such that it respectfully reflects VOCAL.
    Council members are expected to exhibit trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness and citizenship.
    Use of tobacco, alcohol, or any illegal substances are not acceptable for a council member.
    If a council member is found responsible of any criminal or legal offenses, such as stealing, vandalism, harassment or assault, the member may face automatic termination from the council.
    Accidents, illnesses, or injuries that affect attendance for council-related activities should be reported to a council supervisor
    Inappropriate physical contact with another member is unacceptable.
