Find Your Joy with Joey, VOCAL’S July #MarionCoMutt

Meet Joey!  As we celebrate Independence Day, we also celebrate Joey’s new life as a VOCAL foster. Like most of the animals that come into our care, Joey did not have the best start in life.  When we first met Joey, he had basically given up in the shelter.   Joey had been rescued by Marion County Animal Control when he was tethered without shelter or water.  His owner had no interest in paying the fees to have his dog returned, and Joey was set to be euthanized.

VOCAL decided to take in Joey when a new foster, Tracy, volunteered to care for him until his adoption.  Tracy has three other dogs, and cats, and it was crucial that Joey pass all temperament testing before he go into her home.  An experienced volunteer took Joey in for a few weeks before he went to Tracy’s, and she found that this sweet boy is dog, cat, and kid friendly.  He is also housebroken and crate trained, which is a wonderful added bonus.

We are looking for a forever family for Joey. Joey is under 2-years-old and has so much love to give and life to live.  He is a smart, outgoing, friendly, boy, who was taken from a horrendous circumstance and deserves a new “leash on life.”   Do you think you deserve Joey to be your best pal for life?  If you could be the perfect family for Joey, please fill out our Dog Adoption Application.
